Raven

In 2010, we saw an ad at the local store for a little 4 year old horse. He was priced in the kill buyer range and was not trained for riding. He appears to be a mustang or mustang cross. He has no brands. We wanted to be sure he would not end up at auction, with someone making a quick profit in the horse meat market. He is halter trained and was raised around small children. He is very friendly. He had lived without other horses for 3 years, and is very happy to have new friends here. His name had been Felix, but upon his arrival, out local ravens came to check him out and “Raven” seemed a fitting name for this black beauty. He will be 5 in 2011 and ready for some saddle training. Expert equine orthopedists recommend not  riding horses until they are at least 4 or 5. Rushing young horses into too-early training and work cripples many of them.
