We got 6 inches of rain in several storms in a 2 week period. That is more than half of our average yearly rainfall. Despite the colder temps, a few things are sprouting, which is good news for the wildlife.
Cuckoo Bird (roadrunner) and his mate come often for a meal. Sometimes they puff themselves up and look quite large.

The wild birds are very hungry in this colder weather. A scoop of bird seed draws quite a crowd!

All the horses, burros and other sanctuary animals are fine. Poco continues to sing daily.

Buddy’s favorite daily activity is our 1 mile scooter “run” with the electric scooter. He is doing great on homemade food and a lot of supplements to address his various physical & mental issues. He is very active & happy now. He arrived almost 2 years ago at age 8 or so.
Christmas will be hard now that my Dad is gone. I am the last in my direct family line. I remember wonderful childhood Christmases as if they were last week. This was 1956 with my favorite men, my maternal grandfather, Charlie Ott and my Dad, Mike Kates. Both were animal lovers.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year.
Love,
Cathy & the Gang
